New German law (issued on January 1st 2019) requires all sellers to register for tax purposes in Germany immediately. A valid VAT number & certificate are required until February 28th 2019 in order to be able to keep selling products on Hood.de - or any other online-marketplace and selling-platform in Germany. If you are not yet registered in Germany (or the EU) you have only this month left to complete your registration.
Dear Hood-seller,
due to a law change in Germany on January 1st 2019 Hood.de needs to acquire additional information from its sellers. In order to undermine tax evasion (specifically from non-European sellers) Hood may be liable for the unpaid VAT (value added tax) of its sellers starting on the 1st of March 2019.
Therefore German law requires Hood to collect the VAT identification number and a VAT certificate (Bescheinigung nach §22f UStG) from each commercial seller in order to confirm the tax registration of this seller in Germany (or the EU).
The following guideline shows you what needs to be done in order to still be allowed to sell on Hood.de come March 1st 2019.
If you are not liable for tax in Germany according to § 3 UStG, e.g. because you only deliver goods to Germany from a Non-European country (direct sales) please contact the seller support directly.
If you have any further questions or need assistance do not hesitate to contact us.
