Exodus is a 1995 album by the New Power Generation. While their previous album, Goldnigga was more hip-hop oriented, Exodus is more of a pure funk offering, strongly influenced by the sound of Parliament and P-Funk. Although the tracklist boasts 21 tracks, many of them are narrative segues, leaving only 9 actual songs. Of those 9, two are instrumentals. The album spawned 3 singles, however only one was released in the U.S.This album still downplays Prince´s involvement in the band, with "Tora Tora" handling most of the lead vocals. Prince adopts the persona of "Tora Tora", whose face is covered with a red veil. Prince also is clearly present on many of the spoken segues, although sometimes using a disguised accent.
